Ride Carroll Summit

“The Loneliest Road in America” is US 50 through Nevada, which cuts across the original Pony Express Trail. End your trans-Nevada ride with a visit to Lehman Caves and the rocky glacier at Great Basin National Park.

Follow for 59 miles back to US 50 east and go one mile to Austin. From Austin, continue east for 70 miles on US 50 to Eureka. Ely is another 78 miles east on US 50. Continue on US 50 east from Ely for 57 miles to SR 487. SR 487 will take you to Baker after five miles, and SR 488 leads the remaining six miles to Great Basin National Park.
